Frosted Blog – Week 12
Howdy Folks, I’m Greg and I’m playing the role of Kristian in our upcoming pantomime Frosted! If you’re not acquainted with the story I’m the tall, dashing hero. I will look to replicate that performance not only in real life but in the show too! But I jest, I am lucky to be working with an extremely talented group of people that continually outdo themselves at every rehearsal. It’s hard sometimes to keep up as their characters develop and the urge to laugh is somewhat irrepressible.
A little about me now, its fine feel free to skip this chapter… I’ve been part of the SMP furniture since I was 11 years old, only having a brief hiatus last year to pursue other avenues…that feels like the right thing to put, but in all honesty I didn’t do much! In my time at SMP I have been in Fagin’s gang in my first show Oliver, the laughable and loveable Wishee Washee, a member of the Jets gang in West Side Story and my last role was as the dastardly Dandy Dan in Bugsy Malone. The only thing I hadn’t ticked was romantic lead….TICK!
Back to the showbusiness and we are feeling the dreaded countdown with only 3 weeks until Christmas. This has led to widespread panic* that there is little time remaining until we present SMPs 102nd* Pantomime offering. *Journalistic License.
Mondays Rehearsal saw us zip through all of the dance routines we have set with Mrs Fay, as she is affectionately known, cracking her sparkly, step-ball-change whip. Once everything was polished-ish, we moved onto setting the finale dance. Sparkles and more sparkles. Prepare to be dazzled as the chorus dancers encircle and reveal the principles in quite magical style.
On Wednesday, the focus shifted to scene work and yet more dancing. I must say we are a fit bunch indeed. All the pieces of the humorous jigsaw are beginning to slot into place and the final picture is a pleasing one.
Without further ado I would like to thank you all for reading my ramblings and promise me you’ll jump aboard and buy tickets! I will even come out front after the show to sign your programme and grab a selfie!

Frosted Blog – Week 11
Hello there! I am Anna and I am part of the wonderful ensemble for our upcoming pantomime Frosted! This is my second show with SMP and it is an absolute blast!
Our show is fast approaching so this week saw us being very busy with learning the last of our musical numbers extravaganza! On Monday, all the cast members were extra busy learning two musical numbers that promise to really rock our audience’s world – Wrapped Up & You Give Love A Bad Name (that’s right, Bon Jovi, – you have some serious competition!). It was a very intense session but with some amazing results at the end of it – we were sounding fierce!
On Wednesday, since we have sent some more cast members on to that extra-important recon mission Eurodisney that Lee mentioned in last week’s blog (and, although it might seem that way, but no, SMP is not actually moving into the Eurodisney castle… or are we?… J), the remainder of the cast was busy recapping all the musical numbers with our wonderful MD Mike. I dare say it went pretty well… I mean Mike was nearly driven to pull his hair out once or twice during that session but he was still left with most of it by the end – so I call that a successful session! In the second part of the rehearsal, our director Luke was busy working through the scenes and blocking them with our talented leads.
And on Sunday, we got to take part in the most joyous event that took place in Enfield – The Parade of Light! The SMP family have been working very hard over the last couple of weekends and built a magical float for the Parade – a magnificent white castle with extra sparkly towers and doors, covered in lights (obviously) and loads of tinsel! Our Frosted princes and princesses were all dressed up on the float singing away while the rest of us, plastered head to toe in fairy lights, tinsel and glitter, followed the float singing and dancing a very special dance created by Marian! Our youngest SMP member, Jasper, was leading the charge in the lights-covered buggy – trust me, people of Enfield did not know what hit them! There were other fabulous floats in the parade but Frosted one was definitely the most magnificent one of them all! It was a truly wonderful evening and it was great to see so many people enjoying the floats and joining in with the fun – and we got to see some amazing fireworks at the end of it all – SMP life is never boring!
That’s all from me and this week’s blog! Just one thing left to say come and see our show – it will extraordinary!

Frosted Blog – Week 10
Hello There
My Name is Lee, and this is my first show with SMP, the last time I was on stage East 17 were number 1.
I was lucky enough to audition and get selected to be part of the chorus (See you’re never too old to start living your dreams on stage)
On Monday I was lucky enough to have been chosen for a very special recon mission to Go to EURODISNEY PARIS and Speak to Elsa and Mickey to get some words of advice for our upcoming PANTO. Don’t you worry, while I was working hard in Disney, the rest of the cast were hard at work learning news songs and adding some final touches to scenes..
Wednesday saw us singing again and recapping all that has been learnt so far, its amazing the sound that can be made with one keyboard, and a number of very talented singers. I’d forgotten just how hard it is to sing and dance at the same time.
Wednesday was also time for us to get prepared for The Enfield Parade of Lights which is to take place this Sunday 27th November at 4pm
It’s a wonderful day in Enfield Town with many things going on including floats and stalls in the town, if you’re able come along have a glass of mulled wine and enjoy the wonderful spectacular event which is The Parade of Lights’
So that’s all from me: make sure you don’t miss out on this truly magical pantomime!
